EKG-Eternal Kingdom Growth

What is our need?
The building and property of Howard's Creek Baptist Church is first of all a blesing from God, but also a result of a body that had a vision and a heart to see others come to know Christ. It is not only our responsibility to care for these facilities, but to carry on the vision of seeing others enter the kingdom. We are currently meeting in offices and homes outside the church. The roof of the gym leaks and needs replacing. We have a overcrowded gym in which it is difficult to do any athletic activity. We have staff offices that are not accessible to the elderly or the handicapped. By renovating and adding additional educational, recreational, and office space, we will be much better equipped to reach our community, our state, our nation, and our world. By becoming better stewards of the resources that God has blessed us with we will not only strengthen the ministries here at Howard’s Creek Baptist Church, but unify the body of Christ in ways we cannot fathom. Ezekiel 36:25-26
What is our opportunity?
We have the rare opportunity to be a part of shaping lives for many years to come. We have the opportunity to be part of building a new recreation center where we can minister to young people through sports and recreational leagues. We have the opportunity to develop a new dining facility that would meet the needs of all the meal ministries offered through Howard’s Creek; ministries such as banquets, football meals, socials, Fish Frys, and many more. We have the opportunity to disciple lives young and old with new classrooms. We have the chance to provide a safe environment for staff and the easy access to all our body and to visitors. What potentially wonderful gifts we have the opportunity to give to our children and grandchildren and so many more to follow. Proverbs 3:5-6
What is our cost?
It is our belief that God wants us to raise the funding for this project. Total cost of the EKG campaign will be approximately 1.5 million. Roman 11:35-36
What is our Financial Plan?
While several options are possible, capital campaign giving over-and-above the annual ministry budget is the way we feel God leading us as a body.
This approach empowers our congregation to respond to God’s call without shortchanging the important ministries already in place or the annual ministry budget. We will be looking for three-year pledges which will allow the project to be started and completed as soon as possible, while locking in construction costs. Long-term debt would be eliminated or reduced significantly to manageable levels. Philippians: 2:1-5
What is Expected of Me?
“Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice” is the theme that describes our understanding of stewardship. The phrase restates the biblical principle of proportionate giving. Not everyone has the resource to make a million dollar gift, but every person can make a prayerful, sacrificial gift. We encourage an equal sense of commitment and sacrifice throughout our congregation, with each person prayerfully determining his or her own gift. 2 Chronicles: 7:14
What if we don’t Raise all the Money?
For now, our focus is on what God would do through us as we emphasize “eternal kingdom growth.” It is impossible to determine our future course of action until our congregation responds with commitments. We would certainly rejoice to have this facility paid for in the three-year period of this capital campaign! If some amount of debt is anticipated after the campaign concludes, the Leadership Team and Finance Committee will weigh all the options and present further recommendations to the body.
